private message board

Post by concrete »

Concise description:
  • A message board/place to leave yourself private notes

Specifics/Details:
  • There isn't a place for a player to leave himself/herself private general notes. In game you can leave "self" notes but outside that, there isn't a "private" memo area. This area/board would only be visible to the account holder. You can leave yourself notes such as update tournament, take a friends turns for him while he is on vacation, the pw for a player you are covering for, etc..... There could be countless good reasons to have your own note pad.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • All around usefulness. wont have to be looking for a piece of paper to leave yourself notes hence save a few trees. I know I would like it =D>

I agree - it would save me a pile of notes too.

I think this is a great idea. I log in from different locations and computers so having the notes integrated into the site would make it so much easier for me, most importantly when it comes to opening moves on more complicated objective maps.

this is actually a great idea that was floated around before, but i don't know if a formal sugg was made... right now,i store all my clan mates PW's on my gmail and notes on my phone... i do the same for covering peoples turns when they are on vacation or in jail (*cough*)... i think this is a great idea and probably really easy to implement...-Jésus noir

i agree too, always have a pile of notes around my desk.

maybe this special note place should have another password different than your login password, that way people covering your turns can see your notes which may give them access to other peoples passwords and the ability to log into other's accounts and see their notes and other peoples passwords, etc

but great idea conc!

much easier to have a "note pad" to write things down on. I feel this is an excellent idea and could be very easy to implement. I hope this one doesn't go by the way side.

Where would this proposed note pad be located?

My thoughts are either under control panel (maybe a tab next to profile) or somewhere on your wall page.

Unfortunately both of those utilize the forum software, which is (to put it lightly) a nightmare.
It would have to be somewhere under game menu i would think, but space on central command is at a premium.
Suppose it could be its own tab....but idk how that would go over.

any other thoughts on possible locations?

you sound a lot smarter at that sort of thing then I do, I just feel it's a good idea. maybe you could help me out and let me know the best place. I figure the easier it is technically speaking, the more apt it is to become part of the site....thanks in advance if you have an idea for this....

This suggestion has been made before under the pretext of incorporating it as a separate window, a lot like chat, but that could be edited and was just a text box.
