Event runs from Midnight 17 May, and runs until Midnight 31 May (CC TIME)
- Watch for the session times in Global Chat, or hang out in the Chat Rooms to get the map pieces. - The Duty Chat Moderator, will post the link to a map piece in the Event Room many times throughout the day. - First to NAME THAT MAP will get 1 point towards their Leader-board Total. - Maximum of 48 images will be released per day. - Only 3 Attempts at a Map Piece, per player. - When all the room have had 2+ failed attempts each, Duty Chat Moderatorcan issue clues.... - Minor typos will be overlooked. If you mean "Jamaica" and you type "Jamiaca" that's fine. HOWEVER, we are not finishing your thought for you: there is both a Baltic States and a Baltic Crusades. If you just type "Baltic" that is aWRONG ANSWER, because it would require us to finish the thought and decide between Crusades and States.
CC MODERATORS - You must reply in a PRIVATE ROOM directly to Duty Chat Moderator during the event. - You must answer BEFORE the Event Room for your answer to count towards the Mod Scoreboard...HEH HEH -Chat Moderatorswho choose to play this event have NO KNOWLEDGE of the active event.

Is it going to be:
First image link released at 00:00 CC Time (Midnight CC Time)
If correct answer given at Time before 00:30 CC Time, next image link is posted at 00:30 CC Time.
If correct answer given at Time after 00:30 CC Time, new image link is posted at the next XX:00 or XX:30 CC Time.
This way contestants can pretty much count on there being a fresh contest about each half hour. I believe this sort of structure would have a positive effect on participation given that so much of our member base have complex work/life schedules. Just my two cents as someone who is looking forward to this contest.

In the perfect world this could happen every 30 mins, but i cannot see that to to be the case here. I like the idea though...
What we intend to do is run the events randomly throughout the 2 weeks. When i say "Randomly", we have some solid people that will be online as much as possible throughout the day. If there is a good turnout at one of the events, there may be anything up to 10 images released in a sitting. This is why we say a MAX of 48 images per day.

dakky was allowed to play in the event? what a joke.
No you got it wrong.... Dakky IS playing the event.... but i don't see your name on the scoreboard yet?
Drop by sometime and see how it is run.
My name won't be on the scoreboard at all mate. I have no intention of competing when one of the people playing is the creator of the contest that this event is based on. Slightly unfair advantage no?

Mods are being scored separately, for separate prizes. They even submit their answers separately so non-mods can still score a point on the same puzzle.

Okay, doesn't make much sense but oh well.
How would you otherwise make that both mods and non-mods can play?
Mods don't have any real advantage apart from you, unless they sit there with the newsletter threads open, but members can get them easily enough anyway.

Yes, but Razor thought Mods will have the advantage because they know a lot of maps. The thing btw is - I'm not the only one running it, Raz does most of the work. Pixar held one event also. But yeah, I somewhat agree we could have been put all in one box because there are no predefined sets of maps (at least I don't use them).

Bit of a rash assumption. My main concern was that and whoever else ran the original contest that this competition is based on.
It allows us to take snapshots of maps very quickly and easy. I have the complete list of maps already saved on my pc, so it is so easy to knock up 10 maps at a time.
I create my map sections just before the actual live event, so no one knows what i have in my evil mind, not even the mods.
I want to screw up the mods as much as the rest of you .. be assured of that.
Still want to see you on the scoreboard caffeine...you will be surprised on how hard this is to actually solve.

Technically, it should be "Which map is this?" or something along those lines, since the correct answer to the current question is, quite simply, a map.

Rhô. Caff you can be more boring than I [or is it «me» ¿].
