[EXPERIMENTAL] Political Mafia II -- Blue Party Wins!
Wecome to Political Mafia II. This is the sequel to the recently completed first Political Mafia. Like the first game, this will be an unconventional take on the mafia concept -- it departs in many ways from the traditional ideas. In particular, there are no bad guys -- or, more to the point, you're all the bad guys, all out to be the last one standing. While the last setup was closed, this will be an open setup. In fact, everyone will know everyone else's role and alignment. The challenge will be to effectively align yourselves with each other in such a way as to be the last party standing. There are no night actions or night phases at all, and no secret abilities. The only thing leading you to victory is the power for you to persuade your fellow players to join in assisting your own political machinations.
This game will accept exactly 15 players*. When the game starts, you will be randomly placed into one of five political parties. Each of these five parties will have a separate secret location for discussing activities amongst its members. Each party is assigned two killing moves that can be used at any time during the game. In order for a kill to be used, all active members of the party must agree on the target and on when it will be performed. The catch is that the party membership is not fixed. Twice during the game, each player is permitted to join any other party of their choosing, except the party with the most members (if there is one). If a party ever loses all of its members, it is considered permanently disbanded (and any remaining kills for that party vanish).
In addition to the individual party killing moves, there can be up to one collective lynch per day. The lynch occurs if at any time during the day phase a majority of parties all agree on the same lynch target. A party agrees to a lynch target if the majority of its members do.
The winning party is the last party standing, and the winning players are all players loyal to that party at endgame. If you die, your allegiance will be to the last party you were in while alive.
Obviously this is a highly experimental concept, so I make no guarantees of game quality. After that, it's on you: you all will know as much about the game as I do when it starts, so it's up to you to make it memorable.
*If necessary, it can be expanded or contracted in groups of three, adding or removing parties, as determined by interest. If there are four or fewer parties then each party will only get one kill, and if there are seven or more parties then each party will get three kills.

Hell yeah.
I would like 1 extra day vig ability that I can only use on BG at any point in the game.

Thanks folks. Still need a few more signups; not going to start with fewer than 12.

I'll leave this open until Tuesday or Wednesday, but as it stands I don't think this is enough players to run the game.

Re: Political Mafia II -- Signups Open (12/12)
Wait, what, it was 11/15 .. now you start with 12........ sheeeet it will be too hard for bosaardbeitje, convinced him to join into Mystery mafia because thought this one won't start at least 10 more days.......

Re: Political Mafia II -- Signups Open (12/12)
If you can convince three more to join, I'll postpone for a little while.
I don't think it will be too hard for bosaardbetje. This is going to be a game where previous mafia experience means basically nothing.

rather start it right now with Tim in, than boss having two active games. It is his first game, so overloading him with two pretty much complicated games won't be fun for him... and not a great newbie experience...

Re: Political Mafia II -- Signups Open (13/12)
Well he signed up first -- but if he's willing to switch to reserve status, we could do it that way.
Or I could just give more time if you all want it. I am in no rush.

Give it some more time, see if rishaed stars his game in next 24 hrs, if not, I'll tell boss to go out of that game so you can start this one instead...
