Dukasaur Plays Baltic 32 [W=therhino3, GA=Suppurator]

This is the last in the series. I've had mixed feelings about this decision. It's tempting to continue on. I still love this map and I've had a lot of fun running this series. However, I feel that for now at least, I want to develop other tournament ideas that I've been neglecting. I might restart this series one day, but for now, there will be this one, and then a Grand Finale tournament, and that will be the end. I want to thank everyone who has played in this series and made it so successful, and especially I want to thank all the people who have given me great feedback and lots of compliments. It really makes me feel good when I get a PM saying how much someone enjoys this series.

Once again I'm applying for a GA medal for this tourney. This time, you will have to win the first two rounds to get into a special GA game. Everyone who wins their Phase 2 game will get into the game, so it will be 8-player. (Unlike the 1v1s, it will have a round limit, because non-1v1s on these settings do sometimes hang.)

I'm also going to throw in a 3-month premium prize for the person who eliminates me from the tournament. Of course, I hope I win the tournament, and that particular prize goes unclaimed!

Let's all have a lot of fun.

Map: Baltic Crusades

Settings: Auto Seq No Spoils Chained Foggy Trench No Round Limit
Warning to all the silly trench-haters: this is a trench tournament!

Tournament Flow: 32-player 1v1 elimination bracket. Bracket-randomization feature at Challonge.com will be used in setup. 1 game per round for first four rounds, followed by a best-of-three Final. Freemiums are allowed, but are required to reserve one spot for this tourney, and will default if they fail to do so. If a freemium makes it to the final, we can play 1 game at a time.
When someone drops out of a bracket, there are really three things you can do:
 1. Bring in a reserve. This has the drawback that someone will enter the tournament and may win the tournament while having played fewer games than any of the others.
 2. Advance the person who is left without the opponent. This has the drawback that someone gets an unearned freebie advance without having to fight for it.
 3. Resurrect the person who was eliminated the previous round by the missing player. This has the drawback that someone advances who has already lost and should have been eliminated.
All three methods have their pros and cons, and I have used all three at different times. Still, I'm cognizant that all three have some inherent unfairness, and I was wondering which to use in this case, when I came upon a fourth solution.

If someone drops (other than in round 1) the player last defeated by the absent player will be resurrected. However, he will have to play an extra game against his scheduled opponent. The regularly scheduled player will advance if he wins either game, while the resurrected player will only advance if he wins both games.
