> CL8 SIGN-UP THREAD > DIVISIONS > CLANS & CONTACTS > PREMIER DIVISION > SECOND DIVISION

----

New for CL9:

Settings

There are now no restrictions on the following settings: Trench Warfare, Parachute & No Reinforcements & Zombie spoils

Infractions

Forfeits will now only be applied to Major Infractions

Major infractions include: Breaking the tie break rule, Abandonment, Sitting Abuse and anything else considered to be blatant cheating.

Errors in map usage / player counts will no longer incur infractions - See section on Rules & Infractions below

Deadline Extensions

Clans are expected to meet all of the tournament deadlines. However, if required a clan may request 2 extensions throughout the competition.

CL9 Format[spoiler=CL9 Format]Promotion & Relegation:

The 3 highest ranked clans of the Second Division will be promoted to the Premier Division and the 3 lowest ranked clans of the Premier Division will be relegated to the Second Division.

Basic Format:

Clans play each other within their divisions to determine division winners and which clans get promoted or relegated.

Both divisions play a double round robin, i.e., each clan plays each other twice in the same round, with 8 home and 8 away games. Each set of 8 games is considered a match.

Per match, points will be awarded as follows:

  • Win: 2 Points
  • Draw: 1 Point
  • Loss: 0 Points

The clan with the most points in each division will be the winner of that division.

Tie-Breaker Rules:

If 2 or more clans end up with same amount of points their placement will be based on (in order):

  1. Game Difference
  2. Difference in head-to-head results
  3. Difference in head-to-head game wins
  4. Difference in head-to-head away game wins (if still more than 2 clans tie)
  5. Difference in total away wins
  6. Difference in total away game wins

In the unlikely event 2 clans still end up tied, they will play another round with home and away games to determine their placement.

Note:

  • Games won by forfeit do not count as game wins for the tie-breaker rules.
[/spoiler]

Every round will consist of 2 matches, i.e., 8 home and 8 away games between the same clans, a total of 16 games.

For every round the 2 clans will set up the following 8 home games with their choice of maps and settings:

    • 2 Doubles
    • 3 Triples
    • 3 Quads

    Settings:

The following settings are not allowed:

    [/spoiler]
    ----

Creating, Posting & Filling Games[spoiler=Creating, Posting and Filling Games]We will have rounds starting every 2 weeks, on a Sunday (see schedule). The clan contacts are responsible for creating their clan’s (home) games, inviting their players and ensure the games are filled correctly and in a timely manner. Merely inviting players does not mean that the game is filled!

At the start of every round the home clan contacts have to:

    1. Create the home games
    2. Post the home games (game numbers only) in the appropriate thread
    3. Invite the home players and make sure the games get filled

Creating and posting the games should preferably be done on the same Sunday the round starts. However, the deadline for doing all of the above is the Thursday after the start of the round, at 18:00 hrs. CC Time. That means there are 5 full days to get this done.

After Thursday, 18:00 hrs. CC Time, the away clan contacts have 5 more days to:

    1. Invite the away players and make sure the away games get filled

This makes the absolute deadline for joining all games the second Tuesday after the start of the round, at 18:00 hrs. CC Time.

    ----

    IMPORTANT: Communication is key!

Clan contacts should contact the TOs if they have a problem meeting a deadline and/or if they know they are going to be absent for a certain period of time. We may be able to help to avoid missing a deadline by granting an extension or privileges to the second clan contact, for example. Other clan members should warn their clan contacts if they see a deadline may be missed. If the clan contacts are unresponsive, clan members should contact the TOs.

    Notes:

    • To avoid ongoing games from having to be remade it is strongly recommended that the away clan contacts check the home games for errors before inviting their players.
    • It is optional to send a PM to the opposing clan contacts with the games and/or assigned players.
    [/spoiler]
    ----

    Schedule
[spoiler=schedule]As mentioned above, one round will be played every 2 weeks. Rounds will always start on a Sunday. Every round will consist of 1 set of 8 home and 1 set of 8 away games (2 matches) between the same clans, a total of 16 games.

Schedule, based on divisions of maximum 12 clans:

    1. Start Round 1: 8th October
    2. Start Round 2: 22nd October
    3. Start Round 3: 5th November
    4. Start Round 4: 19th November
    5. Start Round 5: 3rd December
    6. Start Round 6: 17th December

      Christmas and New Year Break

    7. Start Round 6: 7th January
    8. Start Round 7: 21st January
    9. Start Round 8: 4th February
    10. Start Round 9: 18th February
    11. Start Round 10 4th March
    12. Start Round 11: 18th March

    Note:

    • The schedules for each division will be posted in the division threads.
    [/spoiler]
    ----

Medals[spoiler=medals]Clan Achievement Medals will be awarded to the winners of the each division.

To determine which players will be awarded a medal the rules of the tournament section of the “Clan Medals” topic apply.

Clan Achievement Medals will be awarded to each division’s MVP. The TO will give each winner details of their top 3 players for them to choose their MVP.[/spoiler]
    ----

    Rules & Infractions[spoiler=Rules and Infractions]Rules:

    • All the CC and Clan rules will be in effect, unless stated otherwise in this post.
    • There will be no 12 hour Fog of War rule in effect. Clans can decide between them if they want to apply it. There will be no enforcement by the TOs or CDs.
    • Game abuse like purposely running out of time or throwing a game is prohibited.

Infractions relating to deadlines and the use of maps, settings and players:

    • 1st Infraction: The offending clan will receive a warning.
    • 2nd Infraction: The offending clan will receive a final warning.
    • 3rd Infraction: The offending clan will receive a 1 point deduction from their overall points total.
    • 4th Infraction: Same as 3rd infraction.
    • 5th Infraction: The offending clan will also receive a 2 pt deduction from their overall points total.
    • 6th infraction: Expulsion from the competition. All results annulled.

    Infractions relating to deadlines:

In the normal course of events a clan can only receive one infraction per round of matches. However, the Tournament Organizer reserves the right to impose additional infractions to any clan suspected of delaying the creation and filling of games to gain an advantage.
This is to prevent a clan causing extended delays to feel safe in the knowledge that they can only get one infraction.

    • When a warning has been issued for missing a deadline, the next deadline will be 24 hours after the warning was issued.

      Use of maps and players:

The TO will not be checking this, so it is up to each Clan to check their oppositions games.

      • For a game to be remade it must be brought to the attention of the oppositions main contact and the TO before the start of round 2
      • Any game that is remade after being registered in the database, and before round 2 of the game starts, has to be posted in the appropriate thread in a new post. That post also has to state which game it replaces.
      • If a player joined more than 3 games per match (set of 8 home or away games), the opposing clan may choose which game or games with said player has or have to be remade.

      Other Infractions, Offenses, Issues:

Consequences for infractions that do not have a specific penalty assigned, and any other offenses and issues, will be determined on a case by case basis, depending on the severity, repetitiveness, and possible effects on the results of this tournament. The consequences can vary from, but are not limited to, a warning to the remaking of a game, forfeits or point deductions, removal of privileges or clan contacts, expulsion of a player, or disqualification of a clan.

      . . . Note:

      • All infractions and penalties will be posted in the corresponding division threads.

      Extensions of deadlines:

      • Clans are expected to meet all deadlines.
      • However as life does sometimes get in the way, a clan may have 2 deadline extensions throughout the competition.
      • The request must be send by PM to [player]Keefie[/player] and/or [player]Extreme Ways[/player].
      • Extensions are 24 hours by default. A longer extension can be given if requested.
      • All extensions granted will be posted in the corresponding division threads.
    Privileges:

    • Clans can request privileges for the first clan contact only, or for both contacts, upon sign-up or any other stage of the tournament.
    • Privileges come with responsibilities: See: Clan Challenge Privileges
    • If 2 sets of games are created and posted, the set posted first will count as the official set of games.
    • Any issues arising from both clan contacts having privileges, such as creating, posting, filling 2 sets of games, missing deadlines because of a misunderstanding between clan contacts, etc., falls under the responsibility of the clans.
    • Any problem arising from both contacts having privileges will result In the immediate removal of the privileges of the second contact.
    . . . Note:

    • A list of clan contacts with privileges will be posted in the corresponding division threads.

    Clans leaving CL9:

    • If a clan leaves CL9 for whatever reason(s) all results involving this clan will be annulled. The clan will not be eligible to enter CL10, unless issues that caused the abandonment are addressed to the satisfaction of the TO.
    [/spoiler]

    General Comments[spoiler=General Comments]Comments:

    • Clans are encouraged to self-police and solve minor issues between themselves. However, if both clans are unable to resolve the perceived rule break / minor issues between themselves, please report this by PM to [player]Keefie[/player] & [player]Extreme Ways[/player]. If this matter is one of the time sensative issues that must be reported before round 1 has finished, contact the other party and CC the TO(s). [/player].
    • For any issues and/or questions with regards to the clan database, please contact [player]Keefie[/player], with a copy to [player]Extreme Ways[/player].
    • The TOs will do their best to keep on top of things, send general reminders, check for inconsistencies, etc. However, the ultimate responsibility for following the rules rests with the clan contacts.
    • Keefie, the Tournament Organizer, is ultimately responsible for running CL9. If you disagree with a ruling by anybody else in this tournament, please contact [player]Keefie[/player]. If you disagree with a ruling by Keefie, please contact [player]IcePack[/player], the Clan Department Head.

    Disclaimer:

    • The format and the rules are subject to change if deemed appropriate by the TO and/or the CD Team.

Below you’ll see the Premier and Second Divisions at the end of CL8:

[spoiler=Divisions CL8]Premier Division (PD)

1.- S&M
2.- TOP
3.- LHDD
4.- TOFU
5.- FALL
6.- FOED
7.- OSA
8.- PACK
9.- ATN

10.- RET
11.- ATL
12.- AFOS

Second Division (SD)

4.- FSC
5.- SOH
6.- PHNX
7.- MM
8.- TS
9.- FAD
10. LOTZ[/spoiler]

Drop-outs:

It’s unlikely that every CL8 participant clan will sign up for CL9.

What happens if clans drop out of the Premier Division? The aim is to keep 12 clans in the Premier Division, unless we have a lot of clans drop out.

A. If a clan from the first 8 placed clans drops out of the Premier Division (i.e., doesn’t sign up), we relegate one clan less. If another clan drops out, we promote one more clan from the Second Division. We keep alternating like that in case more than 2 clans drop out of the Premier Division.

The order in which clans would end up in the PD would be: RET, AFOS, GON, PHNX, OLE, etc., unless one of them drops out.

B. If a promoted clan drops out, we promote the next placed clan of the Second Division. If another promoted clan, we relegate one clan less. We keep alternating like that if more than 2 promoted clans drop out.

The order in which clans would end up in the PD would be: RET, FSC, ATL, SOH etc., unless one of them drops out.

Some examples:

If ACE drops out, RET will return to the PD.
If ACE and TOFU drop out, see above, plus FSC will be promoted to the PD.
If ACE, TOFU and FOED drop out, see above, plus ATL return to the PD.
If ACE and RET drop out, FSC will return to the PD.
If ATL drops out, FSC will be promoted to the PD.
If ATN and TOP drop out, see above, plus RET will return to the PD.
If ATN and OSA drop out, RET will return to the PD, FSC will be promoted to the PD.
