Whac-A-Mod X Chatters Scavenger Hunt
During the Whac-A-Mod Event, Scavenger Tasks will be announced in Global and the Chat Rooms.

Participation may gain you PRIORITY ENTRY into the 2nd Chatters Tourney to be hosted by [player]riskllama[/player] and [player]D3A7H[/player]
with prizes from the Chat Department, at a later date.

Example: "Provide the wall link to the current Conqueror"

1st to do this receives priority entry to the Chatters Tourney and a Clue to a Mod Avatar location of your choosing.
Those who answer these Scavengers in the Chat Rooms will receive the Exact location to a Mod Avatar.

Mod Avatars have been hidden throughout the Forums

IF you find one, you get the opportunity to challenge that Mod to a Whac game of YOUR MAP CHOOSING AND SETTINGS
(Send the details to me, I will be setting these games up)

• You can only challenge a Mod ONCE.
• NO SPEED GAMES or FREESTYLE GAMES
• Each Mod will have a restricted limit to the games that they will accept. (See Below)
• You may save your discoveries up and challenge the Mods to a Team Game with friends, BUT REMEMBER
  
  • Once the Mods reach their game limit they cannot be challenged, so you may miss out

What am I looking for?

• The images are large, when you find one you will know.

How do I get Clues to the locations?

• Participate in the Live Chat Scavenger Hunt

They were hidden and you needed no "hints" to find them. Just browse the forums. Yeah, that takes time but then... you can ask someone to help you or ask a mod for a hint etc.

I would like to kindly remind everyone that most Moderators sacrifice their free time to volunteer here on CC. This is especially the case when concerning WAM. Free time for some is not static, but dynamic, and always changing.

I'm not NP and don't complain about things I don't try to participate in... I spent a few hours looking on my own and found nothing and was looking forward to the "Scavenger Tasks" in GC like past events and stayed logged on for a huge chunk of the remaining days I got to "participate" after I got back from vacation (scrolled up in chat everytime I logged on too to see if I missed anything) but saw nothing from the mods about this in GC or Live Chat

but this like other events I've also seen in the past and wanted to participate in but couldn't because they are set up more for the vets of the site then being new(er) player friendly

When you can put it on a page 45/123 of a forum that was from 2012 (example, since I have no clue where any pic was and nowhere does it say that they are hidden in this years forum posts)... Yes, that would be hidden very well no matter how large the image was.

Do you think this could possibly be related to when you tried to visit them? I am not sure, I didn't really go in LC or GC that much and only saw a few clues given.

It's unfortunate. I'm sorry you were disappointed. It sounds like the event wasn't very popular except among a tiny number of people. It also sounds like there wasn't much material provided in chat. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Did people not participate because they weren't given much to work with, or did the chatters not provide much to work with because people weren't participating? (That's not sarcasm, in case anyone's wondering. It's an honest question that I don't know the answer to.)

Non-game components to big events have always been interesting to only a minority of members, but maybe we've now declined in overall numbers to the point where they can't be sustained at all. It's sad, but maybe it's reality.

As experienced scavenger hunter here on CC I will say my opinion.

While I was a chat mod, we tested and experimented with a lot of different setups and even back then, there was not a number of people who tried to solve those events. It was always at best 5-6 per event. So it is no wonder that only two of us tried to solve this hunt.

This scavenger hunt was the best ever and I really liked it, though I spent about 24 hours to complete it. While I agree it WAS too HARD for regular peeps, maybe it can be a lesson for next events. Maybe one event can have multiple winning solutions, for example huge images (without being in spoilers, and being in first post of the thread) for ordinary people and hidden images for us who like the challenge.
