for the No Spoils Random autotournament, the results are very weird. I think it is broken. If it is not broken, what is the setting that allows for randomized non-winner to advance over winner so I can avoid it in the future.

First surprise was when Lord Bremen was knocked out having won 5 while others with 4 wins were promoted. In the next round of 5 games in our foursome, 2 games each were won by players that did not advance. The advancing players won 1 and 0 games respectively.

You are not reading the tourney info properly. Score didnt reset after each round.

correct, the “Records” column shows the overall wins however if there is a score reset then the “Score” column take precedent...
