He's been banned and was not given a reason. WTF?!

Greetings

This topic is always an acceptable one to bring up if you are concerned. There are methods for NSS to seek out information if he feels he is unaware of why he's received discipline.

However, spamming every forum area and thread is totally unacceptable and will result in forum vacation. Anyone else who wants to get cute and use up my time will see a similar forum break.

Discourse is accepted and even encouraged, but you can't be an ass about it.

Did he get the info why he was banned ?

"there are methods for NSS to seek out information"

Maybe you could say which one here. Could be useful to others in the future and it seems NSS didn't figure out the methods easily otherwise detlef would probably not have been posting.

When someone receives a ban the system automatically sends an email to the email address registered to that account

It is up to the member to make sure they have a valid active email address registered with us.

If he didn’t get it, the e ticket system is there to contact the admin and find out why.

he got banned for "intentional deadbeating"

when the reality is, dude was in vegas and getting intermittent cover

he was even missing turns in team games with me, which goes against the argument KA presents, which is that Scott has deadbeated games that are guaranteed losses

not sure why they couldn't contact scott first and be like "are you deadbeating again" but this is how KA operates with people he dislikes so no surprises there

also amusing is that when scott was first punished for "intentional deadbeating", in response he reported a load of people who do exactly the same thing, which granted him another ban and 0 consequences for the other "intentional deadbeaters"

as a result scott won't be returning to the site

Yeah and we did a poor job covering. I was supposed to take some poly and Clan games that were not over and I fell asleep

A ban allows him to complete games still.

No, he wasn't "permanently" banned, but that really doesn't matter. If he had been permanently banned, I'd leave the site myself because I am just so sick and tired of the hypocrisy and BS when it comes to banning people. If one person is punished for something, everyone else who did the same thing should be given the same punishment! You can't pick and choose who is punished based on your personal feelings towards them!!! The rules and punishments need to be clearly written and enforced equally across the board. Frankly, I believe 100% that deadbeating speed games should NOT be against the rules. Why sit around wasting time finishing out a game that you have lost.

I understand how NSS feels and yes, he does a TON for this site. More than most people likely realize and he will be sorely missed! Just because he speaks his mind and can be a dick, certain people think he shouldn't be playing on CC! But doesn't anyone realize just how idiotic this is!? We're not meant to like everyone in this world and everyone has something that people won't always agree with; but that's no reason to exclude them or wish them gone.

I mean xroads speaks his mind and is a dick, but even I still think he adds to the (game) experience on CC. Even forum experience, as much as his threads are blatant anti-josko they are usually a fun reads.

There is no report in the C&A forum, which indicates a private report. Usually, the people doing that are players that have been active on the site for a while, are known in the forums, and already have a contentious relationship with the accused. It's not tough to scan NSS's most recent games in which he lost (and deadbeated) and make some guesses about who might be the reporter.

Setting that aside, is it now the official rule of the site that if you deadbeat in one game but not in another you can expect a ban? I've always understood the rule to be "intentional" deadbeating. If someone has intermittent access to the site due to travel (or other reasons), are we now to expect that player to be at a significant risk of receiving a ban? What about when a player is completely out and has a sitter, but said sitter fails to take turns in one or more games (for whatever reason)? I've sat for players before that have told me to just sit for their clan games and not to worry about the public and/or tournament games (which sometimes results in a deadbeat). Should I face a ban for having "intentionally deadbeated" while sitting for an account?

This seems pretty foolish to me. Maybe there is more to the story. But if that's the case, there should be a public record somewhere of what rule was actually broken with clarifying details so that the rest of us can understand how the rules are meant to be applied. I'm no fan of NSS, and neither am I antagonistic towards him, but from an outsider's perspective, this looks like a capricious report by someone that dislikes NSS and an overly harsh punishment for something that isn't actually a big deal and isn't consistently enforced anyway. I agree with Groovy. I also think this kind of thing will chase away others than just NSS, and it won't just be the most annoying people.

Pixar has privately reported Scott at least one time if not more lol. Funny how bitter and weakminded some people are.
