Why is all the forum text suddenly enormous?
Is it because CC players are old and unable to see properly?

Re: Forum text size
This font change is more in line with our site being more adaptable for mobile gadgets with regards to Google search complaining about font size and "screen elements being too close together" on mobile screens.
And yeah, it couldn't hurt for CC players who are old and no longer able to see properly, as you say.

Let's look at some facts:
background, same source/URL:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/who-pays-t ... 3-deadline/For instance, the top slice includes the nation's roughly 900,000 households that earn $1 million or more a year. As a group, they are projected to pay $772 billion in federal income taxes for 2022, or 39% of all federal income taxes, according to a projection from the Joint Committee on Taxation.
By comparison, there are 29 million U.S. households with annual income between $50,000 to $75,000. That group is expected to provide the federal government with about $44 billion in taxes, or 2.2% of the total pie, the analysis found.
The average federal income tax rate was 13.6% in 2020, according to a January analysis from the Tax Foundation. But the top 1% of earners paid an average rate of about 26%, while the bottom half of taxpayers had an overall rate of 3.1%, the analysis found.
background, same source/URL:
"When policymakers or taxpayers discuss tax policy, the conversation inevitably turns to who pays, who should pay and how much they should pay," the Tax Foundation's analysts wrote in their report.
To answer that question, the Tax Foundation examined the combined impact of federal, state and local taxes against the benefits of transfers from federal and state programs such as Medicaid, unemployment income, Social Security and community services. Its analysis is based on 2019 tax, income and other data.
and more:
Money back from the government
But after adding in the impact of transfers, the difference is even more stark, the Tax Foundation noted.
For instance, the lowest quintile of earners, or those with income of $25,555 or less, have a combined tax and transfer rate of -127%. In effect, that means they receive $1.27 from the government for every dollar they earn.
The top quintile, meanwhile, have a combined tax and transfer rate of almost 31%, which means they pay about 31 cents for every $1 earned. In effect, the top quintile funds about 90% of all government transfers, the analysis found.
"Due to the highly progressive tax and transfer system, a household in the bottom quintile earned an average of $22,491 in pre-tax and transfer income but had approximately $54,900 in post-tax and transfer income [or money in the form of benefits],since they received an estimated $32,409 in net government transfers," the researchers noted.

Not to be a GD cry baby but if that's the reason then it's ironic that the larger font size makes it harder to navigate the site on my phone screen (as I'm having to constantly zoom out).king achilles wrote:This font change is more in line with our site being more adaptable for mobile gadgets with regards to Google search complaining about font size and "screen elements being too close together" on mobile screens.

Re: Forum text size
Agree, Like if that is the reason its really a bad reason. I also have to zoom out in the phone every time, plus its easier to zoom out or zoom in in the phone. But in the pc it looks aweful and the zoom out its not as effective as in the phone.bigtoughralf wrote:Not to be a GD cry baby but if that's the reason then it's ironic that the larger font size makes it harder to navigate the site on my phone screen (as I'm having to constantly zoom out).king achilles wrote:This font change is more in line with our site being more adaptable for mobile gadgets with regards to Google search complaining about font size and "screen elements being too close together" on mobile screens.
Re: Forum text size
It's quite annoying. The text is now too big on my monitor, while if I zoom out to where it should be (to match the size every other site has), then the sidebar and other elements are too small. Also whenever I go to a new page on this the sidebar moves left after a second. This can't be the most functional way of making the site mobile friendly, surely?

Re: Forum text size
If you are getting your car fixed, do you rely on the guy who fills his gas tank once a week or a guy who works on cars for a living? Do you want the opinion of someone informed and knowledgeable or someone who happens to mention a topic? Do you rely on medical advice from a doctor or a guy who complains about a pimple?niMic wrote:Why does that matter?jusplay4fun wrote:posted by the player with only one active game, as of this timebigtoughralf wrote:Not to be a GD cry baby but if that's the reason then it's ironic that the larger font size makes it harder to navigate the site on my phone screen (as I'm having to constantly zoom out).king achilles wrote:This font change is more in line with our site being more adaptable for mobile gadgets with regards to Google search complaining about font size and "screen elements being too close together" on mobile screens.
Do you value everyone's opinion equally? I do not.

Re: Forum text size
Okay, then I guess you must really value the opinions of people who have been here longer and played more games.

Also, I hold your opinion on this matter over that of ralph.

Well okay, I can't argue with that. Though I would definitely advise not letting me work on your car

Especially given CC's new and alarming font size means he's no doubt having to spend a lot of time zooming out during the process of drafting each rant.

1) indicate what little you offer CC, and
2) I do not zoom in or out on CC.
