Total Length of Tournament: 138 days. March 17 2025 to August 2 2025.
Classic-Style Polymorphic Slugfest
This is a no-frills mixed polymorphic tournament with simple but tough game play and straightforward maps.
Number of Players: 16. The rating minimum has been removed. Bracket will be generated and tournament will start as soon as 16 players are confirmed.
Game Type: Polymorphic (2,3, and 4 slots)
Settings: Automatic, Sequential, No Spoils, Chained, 20-turn round limit. No Fog, No Trench.
Format: Double Elimination, randomly seeded. Best of 7. To make sure it's fair and everyone actually gets a second chance, the winner of the Winner's Bracket will have to be defeated in two best of 7's in the finals.
Reward: Winner takes all – 1-year premium subscription. I'll be playing too in a likely futile attempt to avoid the payout.
General Information:
Polymorphic games can drag on at times so I reserve the right to declare a winner of the series before they are 100% completed in the interest of keeping the tournament moving. In that vein, the tournament will move forward asymmetrically. What I mean is Round 2 could start at different times for different players, depending on how quickly the series' resolve.
Map Pool (randomly selected): Selected classic-like maps. The weirdest gameplay items you will find here are the occasional one-way border or Capital bonuses. Maps will be appropriate for the slots..for example smaller maps will never have 4 slots per player and large maps like world 2.1 will never be 2 slots. Since there are less Poly 4 maps, I'll double the odds they get selected.

My rating has been pivoting wildly between roughly 1700 and 2050 lately thanks to way assassin-based rating swings but if you happen to see this when I'm on the right side of the line rather than the wrong side I'm in

My rating highly going up and down due to large number of games I am playing.
But I can say 1800 is my average level.
If that Ok, then count me in.

I'll add you in 48 hours if the tournament isn't filled up by then and as long as there are no objections from confirmed players.
The main reason for the minimum rating is not to be elitist, but instead to entice some colonels, brigadiers, and generals to join. The higher the rank someone is, the more jealous they become of their points. I should know, I was once in their shoes many years ago. Reasonable people know that points are well correlated to the type of games they play and not just to skill, and so I would not be surprised if a~1600 score person ended up winning the whole thing.
So by trying to protect their points a bit and offering an above average reward, I thought maybe some high level players might join but it has been disappointing so far.

A Year's Premium in a 16 Player Tourney, I AM IN!
And I hope it goes really well for you.
You not want to make it a much bigger Tourney? You could make it 64 Players or even 128 Players and have it filled in a WEEK!
Let me know if you need a hand to fill up an expanded Tourney.

A bigger tournament would be fun but how would it fill up in a week when barely 10 players signed up for this one in a week? Unless you're suggesting CC players just get more excited with big numbers? Or do you PM every player you think might be interested?
This tournament was actually a primer for a bigger more in-depth idea I have. I'll hit you up if I decide to pursue something bigger down the road.

The bracket will be a little goofy because of the double elimination nature but just beat everyone who gets put in front of you and you're golden.

I got a little ahead of myself and generated the bracket and maps using random.org even though we're 1 sign-up short (I used a holder for the last player).
Here's a sneak peak:
The two highest ranked players will be locked into mortal struggle in the very first round. Good thing it's double elimination, right?
The first map we will all play is France (2).
