the short version
all poly games
1st round = 4 games to get placed in a round robin group of 8. it's possible to make all 4 round robins, or not make any
the 4 groups will be, along with maps.... and settings
North (England, poly 3, default +trench)
East (USA Southeast, poly 2, default)
South (South Africa 1885, poly 4, default +foggy +no spoils +adjacent)
West (Flanders, poly 3, default + parachute +foggy)

2nd round = four 8 player round robin groups, each week 5 games for each group, for 4 weeks

3rd round = #2 vs #3 to play 3 game wild card playoff, then winner plays 6 game series against #1. challenger must win 4 to advance

4th round = north vs south and east vs west in 7 game semi final
5th round = 9 game final
if you have questions still, try the long version below.
the long version
this tournament will be poly games. there will be 4 groups. it is possible to get in all 4 groups, or not make it to any of the groups. you'll play 1 game against a random opponent in each of the 4 groups. win a game, you make the 8 player round robin for that group.

the 4 groups will be, along with maps.... and settings
North (England, poly 3, default +trench)
East (USA Southeast, poly 2, default)
South (South Africa 1885, poly 4, default +foggy +no spoils +adjacent)
West (Flanders, poly 3, default + parachute +foggy)

once all opening games are complete, there will be a round robin.
you'll play 2 games against each player in your group. i'll send those in 4 games each week. plus there will be a single random game from another group. this will be done absolutely random. theres no certain number of games from each group or the opponent. each game i do will be it's own seperate random draw. the final week will be only 2 games from your own group, that's because there are 7 matchups in your own group, and 2 per week means 6 will be complete from the first 3 weeks, the 4th week will be the final opponent from your own group, and then 3 random draws from the other groups instead of the normal 1.

for each group, there will be top three players to move ahead. if there are any ties during this, headsup matches will be first determination. 2nd will be divisional record, 3rd will be a single escalating game on classic against all players involved in the tie. (hopefully this will not be needed  )

once all games are complete, and ties have been settled, there will be a small playoff to determine the top player for each group, the #2 and #3 will play a 3 game wildcard game, winner of wildcard games will do a 6 game playoff against #1 player. in event of a 3-3 outcome, #1 player gets the bump. that means challenger needs to win 4 games to steal the crown.

once the 4 group winners are determined, there will be a semi-final playoff.
North vs. South
East vs. West
this will be 3 games on each players group map. and the best record will get the tie break map. (7 games total)
if each player happens to have same exact record, then tiebreak map will be poly 3 classic with default settings.
clarification: (wildcard games will not be counted for w/l record in regards to determining tiebreak)

Finals will be same method as above, except there will be 9 games. (4 home, 4 away, 1 tiebreaker)

if you happen to come out on top of more than one group and face yourself in the semi-final you automatically advance with a 7-0 outcome, if you face yourself in the Final, that's it. congrats, you're the winner.

it's possible to have an uneven single game in round robin groups. in this case, i'll play any games that will be needed in order to balance game count.

if you still have questions, post in thread or pm. i'll try and clear anything up
winner gets that warm fuzzy feeling, the nice little trophy,
and a month free premium.

Welcome back sir, I chatted with Gunn the other day. I myself took a very extended break, but I found myself back. Only one thing explains it, I mean. I don't have to tell you what they say about a guy that rents pigs.

But you're in of course. =D>

okay, all round 1 games sent. stay aware of the mixed settings. also, you have to win one of these four games to get in the tournament. good luck :)

also, i doubt anyone cares. but i do alot of randomizing in all of my tournaments. if anyone was ever curious as to how i come up with it. i do it on spreadsheet. i type like a dog would type, then alphabatize and that sets the order. i've done this for years, and it's about as easy way as i've found. and i don't see how it could be more random. just thought i'd throw that in, i didn't check to see if anyone had the same opponent, but if you do that's why.

My dog would definitely type better than that.

i'll bet he can play piano too.

so, there are several matchups with the same players. especially b00060 and kevi x3

looking back, i should have shuffled the whole 16 field each time. the way i did it there, the players in the left column, never moved, only the 8 in the right. reshuffling the entire 16 each time would have created more variety.
