Help Please!! (THANKS FOR THE HELP I POSTED THE FINAL TRACKS

Post by danodukebb »

So, Saturday morning, a little less than 45 hours from now I will be moving away from my town and going to college...
In doing this, this means me and my girlfriend are going to break up and it is going to be the most painful thing that ever has happened to me...

So I am trying to put together a cd of songs she can have to remember me for, I'm looking for stuff thats kinda slow, sad, not all of them sad but still some sad ones

Heres what songs I have that i MIGHT use already

There Is- Boxcar Racer
Going away to college- Blink-182
Lost without you- Blink-182
First Day of my Life- Bright Eyes

please please please help this lovesick kid out and get some good songs that I cant think of...

Since your breaking up, don't you think it would be easier on her emotions if she didn't have anything to remember you by? If you love her, you'll want her to be able to move on.

i can see u like blink 182 and their offshoots like boxcar lol.

keeping with blink 182 why not "ill miss you" and "not now" maybe even "im lost without you".

ill think of non blink 182 tracks as well

you dont understand sir, we've had a very confusing and eventful long relationship...its gonna be a while until either of us can move on, but we thought our best bet would be to break up while im at college...but it sucks, because im so in love with her and it sucks knowing that friday night will be the last time were really together for a long long long time...

Yes, I do understand. And you know what would suck even more? Dwelling on a realtionship that is going to end. And 'end' is normally synonymous with 'over'. Yes, it may 'suck' that Friday will be the last time you are together, but it shouldn't be; 'the last time we're together for a long long long time'. If you break up, there shouldn't be the little teaser at the end saying; 'Oh, he might come back'. Even if you were to resume the realtionship, waiting until you are finished collage is certainly asking a lot of the girl. Don't you think?

Look, perhaps it will be hard for the both of you, but I don't think giving her a CD full of sad songs is going to help, just hinder.

Grieving affects all states of your health. You wouldn't want her to become un-healthy due to a long-term grievance, would you?

its going to happen anyways, i know her, and were not saying that theres a possibility of it happening, by the fact i wont be with her for a long long time i meant i wont be seing her for a while...i doubt were ever going to start something again, and its going to be plenty painful enough and i dont like how your going about trying to get my not to do this when ive put a lot of thought and consideration into this...it means a lot to me that she knows just how much im going to be missing her

I'm not trying to get you not to do what you think is right. Ultimately, the choice is your to make, not mine. I just thought that, since you were asking for help, I would give you my opinion.

By all means, I have gone through, and will continue to go through what you are going through now. Don't think I don't understand.

If you think that this is what's best for your realtionship, then so be it.

Good luck,

I'm a musician, and know many songs. I also have had many break-ups, and know how you feel. The song that will always mean the most to me in these situations is probably30 years old, but trust me, it fits......if you've never listened to the lyrics.....please look it up: It's by Percy Sledge, and it is called: When a Man Loves a Woman.
Good luck with the future.

do what Ferris Buehler did or was implied to do he was a senior in high school and his girlfriend was a junior, so his solution was to marry her

okay...sad songs...

I never told you what I do for a living - My Chemical Romance
Interlude - My Chemical Romance (Three Cheers album)
When we begin to steal - ...And you will know us by the trail of dead
Novena without faith - ...And you will know us by the trail of dead
In a win, win situation - Emery
Everything - Limp Bizkit
Pendulous Skin - Mastodon
Don't Leave Me Now - Pink Floyd
Hey You - Pink Floyd
Shine on you Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd (as a last song maybe for something positive :) )
Disconnect - She wants Revenge
Killing Time - She wants Revenge
Lonely Day - System of a down (maybe a little too cliche...)
Question! - System of a down
Lost in Hollywood - System of a down
Chop Suey! - System of a down
Spiders - System of a down
Obstacle 1 - Interpol
Slow Hands - Interpol
Say hello to the angels - Interpol
Obstacle 2 - Interpol
Stella was a diver and she was always down - Interpol
Roland - Interpol
The New - Interpol
Untitled - Interpol
I will follow you into the dark - Death cab for cutie (personally I don't like it but she might)
At Least That's What You Said - Wilco
You can't go home again - DJ Shadow
Mongrel meets his maker - DJ Shadow
Six Days - DJ Shadow
Giving up the Ghost - DJ Shadow

note: a lot of these songs are instrumentals, interludes, openings songs, or closings songs on their album, they tend to be more meaningful at least to me...

I hope my list didn't scare you into ignoring the whole thing :)

Look to the Sky By System S.F. feat. Anna
Heartbeatz By DJ Pulse

They aren't exactly slow, but they're probably close to the theme/mood you're looking for. Maybe. Even if its not, they're both still good songs.
