Would depend on the format of the tournament I think. I don't think there are that many detractors of the Middle East Map.

I think it depends on the style of the tournament. It has to be exciting style, if it's boring you won't get that many players.

I think that if you have a nice back ground story and somekind of theme then people don't mind playing the same map (at least I think that it worked for my Fantastic Four tournament where I used only space map).

Yep, the story helps a lot.
Members like to join, when you wanna play each time on the same map in your tourney. I did it with my BeNeLux map. I've made a knights adventure where two different alliances of Belgica and Nederlandia. And in each alliance you have 4 separate Knight orders. They battle in the Knight order to be the best and there are triples of alliances against alliances, and also doubles to battle against each other Knight orders. And we play in all different Game Types, Bonus Cards, Fortifications, Fog of War and Number of Players.

And that with a smooth story, they love to play each time on the same map. :-)
They play with each other, against each other over and over and at the end there will be 1 King of the Low Lands.
See for my example (Koning der Lage Landen Toernooi 2007 / King of the Kingdom of the Low Countries Tournament) on:
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21585

And thats why I play on the tourney of amazzony. I don't like the Space map. But I like the Fantastic Four :-) So thats the reason I'm in that tourney... for the story.

And you can do a lot with the Middle East with the story and gameplay in your future tourney, I guess.

Only thing about my tourneys, it takes a while before there is a winner.
I.E: My tourney of CC EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2007 starts searching for players on 13 Feb 2007 20:27 and the final game is still playing now. Almost 9 months...

It also helps to be a good opponent in your games. Personally I hate the Space map (although I hate Solar more) but have enjoyed playing against amazzony even if she does continually kick my ass.
