Tournament of the Minds [WINNER: multiplayertim]

The mind can be a very dangerous thing, especially when it's turned into a battlefield. But who doesn't like a good challenge every now and then hmm? Submitted for your approval is a tournament, a tournament of the minds! (cue twilight zone theme)

The format will be a one vs one, single elimination style tournament taking place on the 8 thoughts map. Play style will be sequential and the weather will be sunny by default because of the one vs one nature of the tournament. Now this is where it gets interesting, since everyone in the world is unique, the various minds you'll be playing in will also be as varied. so each round of the tournament will have the card and fortification settings differ from the previous ones, but to keep things fair all games of a specific round will share the same settings.

For example:

round 1, all 8 games could have no cards and only adjacent fortifications.
round 2, all 4 games could have flat rate cards and unlimited fortifications.
and so on.

this is so things remain fair for all players in each round.

To get the ball rolling I need 16 players total, but i'm also looking for a handful of reserves in case something happens. Freemium members are allowed, but I ask they keep one slot open at all times for the tournament.
