I've read viewtopic.php?f=6&t=73541&p=1769949#p1769949 that Ramned wishes to play with a new account and would pay premium for it.

This same crap happened with Warsteiner. I always thought that the multis should be canned and the person should have to stick with the original name and buy premium for that...that way people can't get around the foe lists they are on.

He basically indicated he was planning on doing this in that thread you referenced. Declaring you're going to cheat to get around the system seems like a golden opportunity to be made an example of.

Oh well. Maybe Lack should just charge for name changes and keep a published list of all name changes and that might stop some of this.

ramned didnt only want a name change

he wanted a whole fresh start ie. no games played, no points, no medals, no reputation

And there's the rub. If there are people that have ramned on their ignore for whatever reason (I've played one single game with the guy, and it's still going on...so I really have no axe to grind with him personally), then they should get the option of continuing to ignore his next alter-ego.

So, maybe make name changes and status resets a pay for service.

Why is having a completely anonymous start that important ? I didn't think anyone really had it out for ramned that I could see. It's not like Warsteiner or Medal of Honor. What am I missing here ?

I shall address dividedbyzero, hopefully this defends me.

I am NOT cheating by making a second account.

A) Ramned is no longer active, so am using one account.
B) I already had 3100+ points, so you can be sure that my motive was not to cheat
C) There is not but MAYBE 1 or 2 people on this site who have me foe'd. So not worth that.
D) It is NOT worth 30$ to change my username from such a completely awesome one as Ramned.
E) I was a premium!! A paying member!! Supporting the site!! The least I could do is make a second account, which is, as shown by my thoughts above, NOT cheating!

Next:
Multiple accounts pose a big problem for multiplayer games -- duplicate accounts are usually created to get around the maximum number of simultaneous games limit, or to dominate a game with multiple accounts. It is not only annoying to other players, but the excessive use of server resources is unfair to everyone.

1) I was a subscriber, obviously not trying to get around max game limit.
2) I am not trying to dominate a game - if I were then of course that's a bannable offense. But did I? NO! I obviously don't care about points too badly to be OK with leaving 3100 behind.
3) I am not excessively using server resources, I am only using 1 account.

LFAW! Please don't leave me hanging!!

Finally. Even if these arguments don't strike one of you moderators as viable, I need help signing back up because when I go to premium membership, it just says "you are not a premium member" no credit card stuff - nada.

But I really think it would be fair and ok to let me use my second account (Plat....) as a non-sub.

BTW. The third account I made, I sent an Eticket explaining WHY. It was to make contact with somebody and that was IT!

Sigh...I guess I'm out. There's no way I can sign back as it is. Hopefully one of the administrators will catch my argument as fair.

Sorry for making this account, but I assure you it will play no games. It's gone. OUT! Bye! Please have someone assist me on getting this fixed!

As stated - I have no problem with Ramned/you personally whatsoever. It's just a bad precedent for the people out there that do actually create multis to cheat in one form or another and then use a new account to escape the reputation of their past actions.

Yours may be a totally innocent case. I can't see anything dirty about it...it's just odd. Why not just ask for a point/medal reset ?

A new fresh start, statistically speaking, not reputationally, is what I was after. I really better go, I do not wish to keep disobeying the rules. Just trying to squeeze my case in here. I assure you all it is one of the few perfectly innocent ones. I am no longer going to defend myself, please have a moderator help me is all I ask.

Because they won't do it. I've asked for a point reset from Twill before. Such reasoning as "it would just be taking points unfairly away from other people because you'd be a new recruit with Brig skill." Makes sense - and that is probably the reason Ramned was unable to do so.

The first thing that every person has to do when creating their account on CC is check the box that says "I will only ever use one account"
And that is under the following message:
"Warning: Having multiple accounts is considered cheating. We routinely scan for multiple accounts and offending members will be banned from Conquer Club."

I don't understand why people think that the number 1 rule doesn't apply to them.

That does make sense. Yet point dumping is illegal. Seems like a bit of a catch .22 here. Hrm.

There's a major flaw with your statement....you've now clicked a box FOUR times that says "I will only have 1 account". It doesn't have "at a time" at the end, or anything else...period, point, dot....1 account.

Reported for being a multi, sorry mate but this one will be busted to.

--PS, you can send etickets using your banned account.

It's simply nothing more than "rank is supposed to be an indicator of your skill, any point dumping or point resets would skew that and be unfair for the enjoyment of other players." He didn't say that, but follow basic logic and...

Ramned was a much better name...

I think you went about this in the wrong way. I would have started a new account from a different IP once I had finished the original account's games. Completely finished them. I think that was where your error was, you should have finished Ramned's games first.

Once I had paid for premium on the second account I would have started playing on that account and forgot about the first one entirely.

Can't see why one couldn't get away with that...

This was a problem caused by impatience. I saw the original thread (as did many people) and pretty much knew this would happen.

Saying that, I would hope CC is able to show some flexibility on this.

You're dead on, that was a sucky mistake. I hope they do show flexibility. I sent in a few etickets. The account I would use is not this one, I created this one so I could say something. Then again it is their policy.

So obviously guys, never make multiple accounts :-)
