Did Obama just hide American War Crimes?

I just came upon this;
Judge Suspends Guantanamo Case at Obama's Requesthttp://www.truthout.org/012109CGuantanamo Bay, Cuba - A U.S. military judge Wednesday suspended the trial of five detainees accused of involvement in plotting the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, acceding to a request from military prosecutors in accordance with a directive from the new Obama administration late Tuesday.
This is my thought;
Did George Bush hold off public trials of Gitmo detainees until Obama could take office so that Obama could let everyone go? That way we would not have to hold any public trials, and would not have to admit our lack of evidence? Or admit who/how much prisoners were tortured?
I realize the trials are only delayed until May.

The lack of evidence, etc is already pretty well known. Obama is just doing something to correct it.
That said, we are in a connundrum. Many of these guys really are not that nice. Holding them in Guatanamo has done nothing to endear us to them. (to contrast, many German prisoners of war actually returned and are now citizens!). In some cases, they should have been held, but the Bus/Cheny administration was so intent on exerting its power, claiming that many safegaurds and procedures were simply "unnecessary", that they simply did not get evidence and not have destroyed any real possibility of obataining legal proof of crimes.
My opinion... calling this whole thing a war was a mistake. Presidents historically lik wars because they advance the power of the presidency. This is why the power to declare war was specifically given to Congress and not the president. However, presidents have found many ways to get around that little provision.
These terrorists are criminals, not warriers. Orgainized, large scale criminals. We need an international body with true jurisdiction over these crimes. Plotting to kill people is a crime in virtually any nation ... period. Declaring this a war gives these criminals a justification and power that they don't earn.
We don't need to keep on with a war with no end.

These are not public trials. They are military commissions as defined by the Military Commissions Act of 2006.

Not all were. Some were ordered by judges to be public.

Which case is irrelevant if Obama has them all dissmissed or moved away from worldview.
I'm simply wondering aloud if Bush purposefully passed the problem onto Obama.

My point is that they were never really in the world's view because they are prosecuted under the military commissions act. So Obama shutting that crap down is not in any way an attempt to hide this stuff (in fact quite the reverse). As for Bush's motivations, he just did what Cheney told him to and Cheney wanted this crap to continue until the war on terror is won (i.e. forever).

Of course he did...just like Iraq, the economy, etc. Let the new guy clean up the mess.

I forget what/or if movie , but hire the dudes that are serving a life sentence in prison(cause there gonna die anyways), to set up a sting operation, to kill the mofos , let all the fockers out of guantonimo , and follow them and kill the them one by one, maybe they might end up with bin laden
