Map Quester 1
by brandoncfi

I have been working on my Map Blaster Tournament series for over a year now and it has been an amazing experience. I plan on keeping my map blaster series going for as long as there is interest. But I think its time for another type of tourney so here it is

You Must be Premium to Register

Game Play
The point of this tournament is to be the first player to reach 1800 points while posting a win on all of the current set of available conquerclub maps [129]. You will be making the majority of the games yourself and playing them as a regular player. The other players in your game may or may not no that you are playing in a tournament. You will accumulate points for every win. Each type of game will have a different point value. I will randomly make a bonus game that will be worth double the points for a win. A loss will gain you no points.

Scorecard

Points
2 player game 1p
3 players game 3p
4 players game 6p
5 payers game 10p
6 players game 15p
7players game 21p

ex. If you play and win a game with the following settings

If everything is the same except for there is fog then you can use it for points

Look at your scorecard to find what games are available to you

3 games a day? Will that be the day a game ends or can you also post a game for a day that ended some days before?

I see on the scorecard 2 player Terminator games. I would love to know how to create these. ;)

Great question. You will be able to post any win with a game number that is higher then what ever number I start the tourney with.
For example the most recent game made was Game 4804062 if i used this game to start the tourney then any game with a higher number is valid and can be scored. The 3 games a day is simply a way to limit my work load and don't get to far behind. This tourney is meant to take some time to finish. By having to post a win on every map but within the restrictions of what setting you have remaining you will have to do some strategic game making and joining.

Since you have to win one game on 129 different maps, how many actual different settings are possible.

I am guessing that since there are 129 different maps and you cannot use the same settings on any of them, that there are at least 129 different possible settings. Just curious if you have a number on that?

There are 432 different settings that you will have available to play. with only 129 maps it shouldn't be a problem

You can use the same game settings, correct? Just on the same map?

ie.
Africa
8 players, Standard, casual
escalating
unlimited
no fog

Europe
8 players, standard, casual
escalating
unlimited
no fog

that would be okay?

If so, I am in!

no this would not be ok. You would have to change the settings like no fog to fog or umlimited to chained fortifications

please look at the scorecard it may shed some light on what you can do

Scorecard
Every player will have a personalized scorecard that will show their score, what games they have available to them, and what maps they still need a win on. Check out an example here

thanks, the scorecard really cleared things up!

Sounds like a great tournament, but I'm an not sure if I am up for the no spoils games I'd have to complete! I am miserable when it comes to them, lol.

If for some reason there isn't enough interest, I'll hit it up, but I'd like to be a last resort :D

Count me in, I like cross-mapping.

3 games a day? Will that be the day a game ends or can you also post a game for a day that ended some days before?

I see on the scorecard 2 player Terminator games. I would love to know how to create these. ;)

So same map with same setting does not count I get that.

I have looked at the scorecard and I think I get that.

This answers my 2 player Terminator question. Indeed 7 Standard, 6 Terminator, 6 Assassin, 3 Doubles, 1 Triples & 1 Quads makes 24. Times 18 (2 Fog/No Fog, 3 Spoil types, 3 Fortification types) = 432. So this means freestyle isn't possible. Thank God!!

By the way, if that HighlanderAttack dude is going to play, then it will be a difficult Tournament to win.

Sounds a bit confusing, but sounds interesting at the same time. I'm sure once we get the hang of it, it'll be easy to figure out. I'm in for sure on this one.
