Mid Year's Resolution Revolution [Winner: dyrtydog]

Post by JoJo123 »

You pick your own resolution (map and settings). Each round each group (chosen randomly) will play on all the maps in that group. You will be assigned points at the end on each round. You will get double the points for your score on your resolution in all rounds but the last. The people with the highest number of points from each round will advance. The lowest-scoring players have broken their resolution and will be cast out of the game. If you've already failed at your new year's resolution or feel so good about yourself keeping it so far that you feel like you need a new one, this tournament is for you!

Round 1:
When you still think you can keep your revolution.
Twelve groups of 6 – top 3 from each group advance
Points: 1st: 10, 2nd: 7, 3rd: 5, 4th: 3, 5th: 1, 6th: 0

Round 2:
Good job! You’ve held on to your resolution for a whole month.
6 different groups of 6 – top 3 from each group advance
Points: 1st: 10, 2nd: 7, 3rd: 5, 4th: 3, 5th: 1, 6th: 0

At the end of the second round the two players with the most amount of points from both rounds but just didn’t make it into the top 3 from their group in round 2 will also be able to advance. Aka. they made a small mistake and broke their resolution but nobody found out, so they are pretending it never happened.

Round 3:
Ok, it’s September, but do you think you can really make it until January? It’s tough.
4 groups of 5 – top 2 from each group advance
Pts: 1st: 10, 2nd: 7, 3rd: 4, 4th: 1, 5th: 0

Round 4:
Shocking! Half the year down, 6 months to go.
2 groups of 4 – top 2 from each group advance
Pts: 1st: 10, 2nd:6, 3rd: 2, 4th: 0

Round 5:
June! Only one more month to go.
1 group of 4 – top 2 advance
Pts: 1st: 10, 2nd:6, 3rd: 2, 4th: 0

Round 6:
June 30. One more day. Don’t mess up for one more day! Then you can make a new mid-year resolution that is much easier to keep!
10 1v1 games – 5 on each player’s map. If it ends 5-5, both games will continue to be sent out until the tie is broken, and someone broke their resolution at the last second.

Other Rules
If the game is not over by the end of round 25, everyone left will receive the average number of the points left for the tournament.

In the event of a tie between advancing and losing in any round but 6, both players will play 1v1 games on both their maps. If the score comes out 1-1, then the final game will take place on doodle earth, escalating, chained, sunny.

Premium is necessary as 6 games will be played at a time in the first round.

Join your games within a timely (72 hours) manner or (without a good excuse beforehand) you have broken your resolution and are out of the tourney!

This is essentially the same as New Year's Resolution Revolution: viewtopic.php?f=91&t=73031
That one started in January and is currently about to start Round 5 so keep in mind that this tournament will probably go on about 7 months. So don't join if you think you are going to quit!

Sound fun? Sign up below with your choice of map and settings! Keep in mind - All games are standard and sequential. No spoils is not allowed!

No prob...I was just thinking that might help avoid the 25-turn limit.

Escalating? I'm not forcing players to play escalating so flat rate is allowed but no spoils is forbidden. In the last tourney, I only had a problem with big build games with 1 type of game out of 72. So hopefully, it will remain a small issue. :D
