World Cities Tournament [FULL, needs reserves]
Dear players,
I am planning to start a tournament called "World Cities Tournament", which means that the map will be based on real geography. The whole tournament will be divided into several rounds, and each round will be divided into several games. This tournament will need 32 people to participate in, and the 32 players will be divided randomly into eight groups of four. Then at last, the winner of each group (marks will be counted) will play against each other in the final. The settings of the tournament will be as follow:
(1) number of players in each game: 4 (except for the final, there will be 8 players)
(2) game type: standard
(3) play order: sequential
(4) spoils: escalating
(4) reinforcements: unlimited
(5) fog of war: yes
(6) joinability: public (24 hours each turn)
You do not need to choose your own groups because it will be randomly chosen by the computer. All you have to do is just to sign a name after this post. The list of the maps and the list of participants will be posted right after this one. Thank you very much for your attention!
Regards,
Scania N113

List of Maps
The maps for ROUND 1 will be as follow:
(1) Cairns Metro
(2) Charleston
(3) Hong Kong
(4) Montreal
(5) NYC
(6) San Francisco
(7) Sydney Metro
(8) Vancouver
Marks given for ROUND 1 will be as follow:
(1) 3: winner
(2) 2: last to be eliminated
(3) 1: second to be eliminated
(4) 0: first to be eliminated
Bonus marks given for ROUND 1 will be as follow:
(1) 3: eliminate all players
(2) 2: eliminate two players
(3) 1: elminate one player
(4) 0: cannot eliminate any players
After ROUND 1, marks will be counted automatically by the computer. Then the highest ones in each group can go to ROUND 2, which is the final. And the map being played on in ROUND 2 will be World Cities (not yet availabe right now)! Please try your best and I wish all of you good luck in this tournament!
In case a participant decided to quit the tournament or the participant is kicked out from the tournament, he cannot come back again. And I will request the first player in the waiting list to replace him. Then the marks for the kicked-out player will stop counting, which means that the total mark of that player will be the marks he gets from the first game to the game before he is kicked out.
About the marks allocation for the replacing participant, there is a formula like this: [total marks he gets from the first round he joins in to the end of the tournament] / [number of games he completes] X [total number of games in the tournament].
For example the tournament has 15 games, and before he joins in there are 10 completed games, and he got 20 marks at the end. So the real marks he gets will be: 20 / (15-10) x 15, which is 60. If the mark does not turn out to be an integer, the number will either be rounded up or rounded off to an integer. For example 60.50 - 60.90 and above will be rounded up to 61, and 60.10 - 60.40 will be rounded off to 60.
If you have any problems with the marks allocation in this tournament, just send me a PM or post something at the end of this thread.

Re: World Cities Tournament
Just throwing this out there, but Luxembourg and San Marino aren't cities.
Might I suggest Prohibition Chicago or Sydney Metro?

Thank you for your advice. But I think that there are no capital citities for Luxembourg and San Marino, or I should say the capital cities are the countries themselves. Also, I can add Chicago and Sydney in.

No, the capital cities may have the same name, but the entire country is not the capital city, in either case.
