Running through the alphabet [winner abel]

This is the time of year when I usually start a longer timeframe tournament. Here is the next one. Expect this one to last for 12-18 months so don't join if you're not committed to being around. There also will be some pauses between rounds for many players (especially those who win early in the round)
72 players
1v1 games
Settings
chained
no spoiled or escalating (randomly decided for each game)
sequential
no fog
You have a 12 round limit. If you do not win within 12 rounds both players are thrown back in as losing this one.
1 game played at a time (unless you are one of the final three left in a round when you may have 3). Freemiums are welcome.
We are going to run through the alphabet. We start with the letter A. All the A maps will be randomly sorted into an order with all players playing the first map on the list. 72 players will produce 36 winners and 36 losers. The 36 winners advance to the B round while the 36 losers play again. These games will give us 18 winners and 18 losers with the winners advancing and the 18 losers playing on another map. This will give us 9 winners who advance and 9 losers who do not. 8 of them will play and the one who has been beaten in the least rounds in his games during the A group will have a bye (once a player has a bye in any round they will not get another until all eligible players at that time have also had one-byes are bad). The 4 winners will advance. One of the losers will get a bye (same criteria as above) with the previous bye player and the other 3 losers playing 2 games. When there are 3 players left they will play a series of 1v1 each of them. If any lose 2 they are eliminated, if each goes 1v1 then all three advance. If we reach a round with 2 players left they will play with the loser of that one eliminated.

We will play each letter of the alphabet-total of 26 rounds.
Round 1 will be A. All maps beginning with A will be randomly sorted into the play order, if we have enough games to use all the maps that begin with a letter (or, for letters where there is no map beginning with that letter) we will go in order of map list to find the next map that has that letter in it. So for instance, for the letter K. The first game will be on King of the Mountains. After the first game on King of the Mountains there are no maps that begin with K so we will move from K down the list to the next map with a K in it (in this case, midkemdil). The third game would move down the list to the next K (currently Poker Club). Once all maps using a letter are used we will repeat as necessary. All letters are represented in at least one map, most in multiple maps. New maps are used in the order that they appear in the map list.

Each player gets 1 point for each game played. At the end of the tournament after the Z round is finished the player who has the lowest point total will be declared the winner. If a player clinches the victory before the Z round is over they will be declared the winner (but no one can be declared winner before advancing through Z

Games where your opponent is a no show will not count against you in your totals but you will not be credited with a win and will have to play the next round. You will be credited with a bye (so you cannot be given another bye until all other players that are active in that round have also had one). No shows are eliminated from the tournament
Note. This is not an elimination bracket tournament. You have to win on each letter to advance but it is possible for all 72 players to advance all the way through the bracket.
