This is the word from the mapmaker..... listen up carefully all....
1. The little stick figures/icons are infantry. They attack like in classic risk -> next door to a bordering territory.
2. The chess-like horse icons are cavalry. They can attack two territories away from where they are positioned, providing there is an chain-like link to the territory two away.
3. The three little round icons are cannonballs and they represent the Artillery; these do the bombarding.
Artillery are special. You can conquer (move onto) an artillery territory from the adjoining non-artillery territory, but you can't move off the artillery territory.
You can't bombard your neighbour nor any territories that have the same army colour ( for example red = english, blue = french). You can bombard territories across the other side of the map that are not coloured the same as your position, providing they are on the same side of Brussels Road as your position.
For example, a red artillery cannot bombard a red territory. It can only bombard a blue territory.
And the villages are non bombarable by either side.....farms are bombardable.
I hope this helps in everyone's enjoyment of this map.
