American Idol Season 8 [Winner: Rémi]

I'm Ryan Seacrest and This...is American Idol!

This is for premium players only with 95% attendance or above please.
All games in this tournament are Sequential
The Tournament will begin April 1st 2009.

Details of preliminary stages

To become this year's American Idol, first you'll have to get through the audition!

Stage 1 - The Audition

We'll start with 108 auditionees - 54 will go through to Hollywood! First you need to choose where you'll sing your audition.

Please choose ONE of the following maps to play on:

NYC
San Francisco
Dust Bowl
Charleston
Great Lakes
Puget Sound
Texan Wars
Pearl Harbor

You'll play your chosen map 4 times (1 v 1), once for each of the four judges: (all Audition games are Standard)

Paula: Escalating, Unlimited, Sunny
Randy: Flat Rate, Unlimited, Sunny
Kara: Flat Rate, Chained, Sunny
Simon: Flat Rate, Chained, Foggy

You need 3 votes to go through! (If it ends up 2-2, the player who won Simon's vote goes through)

Stage 2 - Hollywood

Welcome to Hollywood!

It's all new and exciting, so the 54 players will each play a 3-player game on New World:

Standard
Escalating
Chained
Sunny

The 18 winners of these games are automatically through to the Semi-Finals.

The other 36 players are given another chance: you will each play an 4-player Doubles game (teams will be randomly assigned using random.org) on New World with the same settings as above. All the winning teams will go through to the Semi-Finals.

Stage 3 - Semi-Finals

The 36 players will be split into 6 Groups of 6.

Each group will play 1 game on American Civil War, and 1 game on USApocalypse. (Both games will be Standard, Escalating, Unlimited, Sunny)

Points will be awarded as follows:

1st place: 8 points
2nd place: 5 points
3rd place: 3 points
4th place: 2 points
5th place: 1 point
6th place: 0 points

The winner of each group and the 3 second-place players with the highest number of points will automatically go through to the Final 12.

The remaining 27 players will fight for the last 3 places in the Final 12 on the US Senate map. 27 players will get knocked down to 9 (3-player games) who will then get knocked down to 3 (3-player games again). Settings will be the same as the earlier Semi-Final games.

Stage 4 - Final 12

Congratulations on making it to the Final 12!

Here you get to start choosing your maps!

At this point the remaining players will PM me their choice of map from the following list:

Each group will play the maps chosen by the players in the group once.

Points will be awarded as follows:

1st place: 4 points
2nd place: 2 points

At the end of the round the top 3 players in each group are safely through to the next round.

The players who finish last in their group will play off on the USA map with the following settings:

Assassin
Flat Rate
Unlimited
Foggy

The assassinated player is eliminated from the tournament, the other two players go through to the next round.

No points are carried over; you've got to fight hard every week for America's votes!

Stage 5 - Final 11

11 players will each play four 1 v 1 games (randomly assigned by random.org). Each player will choose a map from the list below:

The 3 players with the fewest wins will play-off for survival on USA in the same way as the previous round.
