We can get hobnobs, pickled onions and brown sauce off the self here. What's proper tea?
good leaf tea, not teabags, not fruity herbal la-de-bloody-da nonsense, and most certainly not debloodycaffeinated,
I like to blend my own. A mixture of Kenyan, Sri Lankan, a little Darjeeling and a pinch of Oolong.
For the British market, the leaves are chopped finer than for most markets. I don't know how it works, but this gives a distinctly different taste. If you get leaf tea in the US, it's all either like Darjeeling (long strands) or is actually whole leaves which are processed to curl up into a ball,,and which unravel as they infuse.
