Concise description:
create new game option of having c.c. members only over the age of 21 be allowed to join

Specifics:
for c.c. members who freely offer to verify their age, that would like to play with other adults
with options of their own over 21 forum where adults can relax and be adults, or not.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
will drastically reduce the # of frivolous C & A threads freeing up the mods time and more importantly will "protect the children"

You will more likely be able to start a social group, and play games within, rather than have an option made for the games, which quite realistically, wont happen.

Not saying I dont like the idea, just being practical, and with callouts, game invites and social groups for such things....I dont believe youll get your option any time soon added. Sorry.

I think a more realistic goal is to start a user group/clan for players over 21, if that's a criterion you want to establish for membership.

I really don't see any way of making two options for membership in CC otherwise and the policing would be nearly impossible.

I don't have a big problem playing with youngsters, but when one does create problems due to immaturity I just don't play with him anymore. That has worked for me quite well, so far. On the other hand, even the oldsters sometimes act like youngsters, so making the number of years the player has been alive is not such a reliable measure, in my opinion. As much as I would like to support your desire, I'm afraid I'll have to leave that support for who agree with you. I don't disagree strongly; I just don't see it as a big problem, so I am neutral.

I certainly understand the sentiment, but frankly, the biggest a-holes I've had to deal with here were over 21, whereas someone like my son, who's 15, is a great player. I also think that as a practical matter, it's pretty hard to verify someone is over 21.

Here's an alternative suggestion that is much easier to implement and would, I think, accomplish the desired goal even more effectively:

Add game options (premium players only would have access to these) for:
1) Minimum rank to join game
2) Minimum overall rating to join game

I also like the option to set a minimum rank for a game (the minimum must not be lower than the game-creator's own
actual rank) but my reasons for this are a bit more selfish - I am not too fond of losing massive points to cadets

It would be difficult to verify a persons age. Credit card is one way in that you must be over 18 to have one I think, but not sure about international rules about credit cards and age and if you have a bank account, you can have a mastercard/visa DEBIT card and that age is 16 I believe so that way of verifying age is out.

The min score about creating games has nothing to to about age but for farming points. High ranked players farming points off low ranks, etc. AND some of the point farming is a result of multiple accounts which must be enforced somehow. There is no correlation about points vs age so that part is really a mute point.

I agree with the point that many players OVER the age of 21 are jerks and are like kids and whine and complain more than the under 21 crowd. The trash talking in the chat comes from ALL ages. Also the rating factors come into play as well for ALL ages. I have received low marks from SORE LOSERS when nothing was said during the chat, me or my team won fair and square and yet received average marks or lower for winning a well played game but the sore losers rates the winners low.
If anything needs to be done is change the rating system and there are negative marks that 'one' disagrees with there needs to be some way to remove those marks, or let the comments fields nullify those low marks. I have played with many players under 21 and for the most part have had no problems with them. Some are very good players and enjoy playing with them.

I like the idea of an 'over 21' forum for us adults that want to be a part of that. Then games can be set up among the adults and would then not have to worry about under 21's joining those games. I think that this is the only way you can solve the problem about playing with the 'kids' and would be up to each of us to determine how we want to play the game and with who we choose.
Another option would be for there to be an 'Over 21 only' box on setting up games. So all would see that when deciding to join games. No way to stop under 21s from joining, BUT if they see that, they most likely will choose to not to join.

Anyways..I think an OVER 21 forum would be entirely appropriate to have as well have an UNDER 21 forum as well. This way kids can play with other kids if they so choose and adults can do the same.

alot of sites merely have the member check a box as to verify your age, i realize that this is basically the honor system, but it would not require much in the way of holding private info on players, and would take any liability off of c.c. since you stated you were over 21 and accepted responsibility for going into over 21 parts of the site, it works for porn and gambling sites, as well as ebay for age restricted parts of the site.

alot of sites merely have the member check a box as to verify your age, i realize that this is basically the honor system, but it would not require much in the way of holding private info on players, and would take any liability off of c.c. since you stated you were over 21 and accepted responsibility for going into over 21 parts of the site, it works for porn and gambling sites, as well as ebay for age restricted parts of the site.

There would certainly be no harm in having an option for the player setting up the game to have a box activated which requires all players to promise that they are over 21 or whatever age. No harm, but would it produce the result you're looking for? Would only mature players then join the game? I honestly think you'll be disappointed, but I was wrong at least once before in my life, so if it can be done, why not try it?

While we're on the subject, a while back I found I was being invited frequently by a youngster of 14 or 15 years of age. I didn't like the way he played, because his judgment, in my opinion was not well developed. I hated to do it, but I finally declined his invitations, explaining that we just don't seem to play that similar a game and he very nicely accepted my position and we haven't teamed up since. So there can be other options, if the one you're looking for never materializes. Neither is 100% failsafe, admittedly, which is another RISKy aspect of the game!

let me clarify a little, 1 aspect of the over 21 club would be to have its own forum where children wouldnt be allowed into and be traumatized by what they might read or see, when i say children i also group easily offended people, but just like when checking the box at a porn or gambling site the individual knows what is to be expected once it goes to the next screen, this wouldnt be flame wars reinvented, but it would cut down on the # of forum bans handed out, and the mods wouldnt need to waste as much time policing the forum.

Also in England you can have a debit from about 13. I know some people with them who are younger than I and have them and I'm not 16 ergo it wouldn't prove anything
