Are you saying you are going to do transparent backgrounds? Those white bvackgrounds will disappear in the final images. But for now because .png files are so much bigger, they have to stay as .jpgs

As with Cairns Metro, this won't be a problem, since it's the forums here that are slightly blue-toned.natty_dread wrote:Are you saying you are going to do transparent backgrounds? Those white bvackgrounds will disappear in the final images. But but, I heard lack converts all map images to jpg:s when he uploads them on the site...
Ps. If you worry about PNG file size, get OptiPNG. It reduces the size a lot without reducing quality.

yeah the frames is what i meant i think they are too flashy and take attention away from the map itselfcairnswk wrote:you mean the frames of the four images in each corner...Lone.prophet wrote:its a great idea for sure and the idea of the roundness isbut the borders of the image are

sorry lp. are you serious. the maps stick out like a sore thumb from the frames imhoLone.prophet wrote:yeah the frames is what i meant i think they are too flashy and take attention away from the map itselfcairnswk wrote:you mean the frames of the four images in each corner...Lone.prophet wrote:its a great idea for sure and the idea of the roundness isbut the borders of the image are

yes i agree max, so any suggestion you can come up with would be greatly appreciated.max is gr8 wrote:I think they look good. The only thing I'm concerned about is the game play making all of the 6 maps just similar with different places. I mean looking at other of the world city maps (the popular ones at least) they have a twist or they aren't popular. I think the maps are wonderful but gameplay wise it may be good to have something additional.

If you have a design in mind that maintains the same four corners image holders etc, i'd be glad to see it.Lone.prophet wrote:well i think you can make way better frames but if you dont find it necesary i cant force you

True, the Baltic sea is very dark... Except in winter, then it's mostly whitecaptainwalrus wrote:yeah, the frames are nice IMO. The water could be darker in Stockholm, it is the Baltic sea, which is a nice dark blue.

Hmm, so on this map we could play using the Smog of War option?fumandomuerte wrote:Map: Ciudad de México
1. Cairns, I found a division that's been used since the 60's to measure air quality (IMECAS program).
Smog is one of the most important issues in Mexico Cityender516 wrote:Hmm, so on this map we could play using the Smog of War option?
Seriously, these look like good ideas for organizing a map of this area.
fumandomuerte...WOW, thanks for all that information.fumandomuerte wrote:Smog is one of the most important issues in Mexico Cityender516 wrote:Hmm, so on this map we could play using the Smog of War option?

So what's it going to be fellas.....dark blue or light blue/white?natty_dread wrote:True, the Baltic sea is very dark... Natty, thanks for the suggestion, but that kind of frame is not what i had in mind for world cities...it's kind of "plain jane" and too dark.natty_dread wrote:cairnswk wrote:If you have a design in mind that maintains the same four corners image holders etc, i'd be glad to see it.Lone.prophet wrote:well i think you can make way better frames but if you dont find it necesary i cant force you
Well, this is just me, and I'm not Lone.prophet, but I would do something like this:
....
This is just a rough draft, mind you, to show the general idea. Colours, textures and other details could be tweaked and fine-tuned.
Yes i agree.Industrial Helix wrote:Might as well express my support for the gold frames, it makes them look like world class cities.

Meh, that's cool... I did it in 5 minutes, just for shits & giggles, mainly for the giggles... Your map, your choicecairnswk wrote: Natty, thanks for the suggestion, but that kind of frame is not what i had in mind for world cities...it's kind of "plain jane" and too dark.

This looks very interesting, particularly the way that borders could be tweaked between regions 2 through 6 to add or delete connections for the sake of gameplay without severely distorting reality. That should make it easier to convince Mexican CC members that the changes are worthwhile. The split of Tlalnepantla de Baz could be used to put in one of those quirks that should be on every map: you know, the one that makes you say "D'oh!" the first time you play, don't see it, and it costs you dearly.fumandomuerte wrote:Here cairns, the name of the most important conurbated municipalities (all from the "Estado de México" region) that don't belong to the Distrito Federal region.
