Aw crap...you made this game too easy wercool. Might as well declare it over now.

With the cops able to investigate themselves, they can discover alignment.

captainwalrus investigated self, guilty. He's either insane or paranoid.
vodean investigate self, guilty. He's whatever captainwalrus isn't.
gregwolf investigated self, innocent. He's either sane or naive.
From what you said about colton, we can all infer that he's the last cop.

I'm not even going to try to defend myself against crushing logic. This setup has potential, but if you want these games to last longer, you can't let the cops investigate themselves. Otherwise, it's just going to be a logic game. Especially if you're going to go with a night 0.

you just have to go along with it, and pretend that you investigated urself.
I played a game once with a little girl, who got to stay awake at night, and who didnt even pretend to sleep. totally confused the mafia.

Letting cops investigate themselves in larger games completely defeats the purpose of flavor cop, why would allowing to investigate themselves in a smaller game be better?

Cop investigates self night 0.

If innocent, knows he's either naive or sane. That way, if he investigates other people and gets 1 guilty role, then he know's he's sane. Otherwise, he's naive.

If guilty, he knows he's either insane or paranoid. If he gets 1 innocent result, then he know's hes insane. Otherwise, he's paranoid.

A smart mafia player will always investigate themselves early to figure out general sanity. I just feel this defeats the purpose of flavor.
