Sweet HA I hope u had a good break. Not sure but when u start posting games I was wondering if I could make a few map requests. They r Australia ,Chinese checkers, and kings court. Settings I would like don't really matter as long as it is sequential. Thxs again HA...I hope u have a good Christmas !
I suppose you can ask for news then, if thats what you mean.
Meantime its heading towards christmas, so HA may have some other stuff that needs doing apart from the CC-workload. Could be he doesnt make it to round 14 till after christmas. Im sure his CC-addiction will get the better of him once he manages to lock his kids and family in the cellar, though

Im a fan of long tourneys too. If its expected to be more than a year, it should simply be specified in the sign up info.
I'm thinking there might have been a lot of tournaments abandoned that were overly long and complex and the TO disappeared/got tired. Even if this is the case, I wouldn't have a blanket rule that no tournaments can be over one year. Maybe you can become a senior TO or something. Prove, like HA certainly has, that you are willing to stick around for a while and run some long tournaments.
Of course, I don't know what the actual rule is right now, and perhaps they would allow someone like HA to run another one of these tournaments. I know he has been planning on other big tournies as he has said in this forum. HA, care to weigh in when you get back from vacation?
I used to play in a yahoo pool league, and as a tournament director you got extra privileges once you made a certain number of tournaments. Perhaps that's the way to go? That way you get commitment before they take on a massive undertaking. Obviously HA has proven himself time after time. Maybe the type/size/length of tournament would be activated in your account when you are awarded tournament creator medals?
Cant spot a downside. - It gives credit to tournament directors and as such may even facilitate a bit of extra cash to the game through a few extra prizes and it provides a way to recognize the tournament directors who manage to put in enough time and effort to keep good tournament going as well as a system for tournament directors to prove themselves a bit before undertaking something thats more than they can handle or more work and time than they expect to put in. May provide more tournaments and entize extra from the tournament directors.
Win-Win-Win-Win-Win situation as I see it.
One of you guys want to put it in suggestions?

Have not seen anything pertaining to a one year rule but I have been limiting my CC time of late--I think exceptions will be allowed but I dont make the rules
