-----Don't worry..Conquer Club has over 700,000 total members (users) now. The High Command doesn't have to cook the books anymore. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion).
these aren't accurate since the books have been cooked... i don't care what duka31flavors-saur comes in here and says... the books have been cooked... you can't jump from 7K to over 10K in one day and just watch the numbers decrease again... doesn't work that way... we are all in this together, so BE HONEST WITH US!!!-Jésus noir

Amen. i almost cried when i lost this thread. now walking dead is over and i can't post there for like 7 months til next season. all the other threads lack content and purpose. I want purpose in a thread and this one was the only one that had it. until the books got cooked that is.
i remember when spider man the movie came out. and i was like "hell yeah, i bet this is gonna be good. batman was such a success". so then i watched it, and they put up that goofy ass clown kid as spider man. what a joke. so i watched the second one too. and it was pretty bad as well, then they remade it, different story same sequal different actors, 2 more sequals one new actor, mary jane changes, uncle ben dies 3 times what the f*ck is going on with this spider man huh? isn't there like a comic book that you can lock down a story line with?, shit now they got avengers 28 out now. how the hell can anyone keep up with this mess.
-----See William, alex is wright. A lot of other reasons for the decline of CC were talked about in this thread. Before people started counting down. Also alex, people got sick of 10,000 ways to play risk. There is only one way..The RISK WAY. There is only one way to play STRATEGO. One way to play CHESS. I know there is Chinese Chess and that dumb ass Star Trek 3D chess. But really there is only on way to play chess. Those people came to play Risk. Not those dumb ass settings and maps that went well of the path of the Original concept of RISK.ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion).

other reasons include things like when they die, or their computer is lost in a housefire or something like that, and they no longer care to restyle their new computer the way they liked it before.

Been there, done that... There was a game callled Americas Army, it was a first person shooter (and it still is), but back at the time, there were a lot clans, players, people. Today, even it evolved into AA2, then AA3, then AA4... you have less players than on ConquerClub. I'm so sad that AA failed, after so much tournaments there, but it was inevitable... that had to happen. That is happening with CC now and the only way out is - make a new game. True but honest. I'll be supporting the site anyway.
Best measure to see if in Decline- when you put in your parameters for a game in Game finder how many are there to join? so far for me there is a consistent 400+
It was hard enough to get 4 ppl involved in a live game as a kid so as long as I can get 6 to 10 games going at once I will be around.

yeah, i don't think that is a really good indicator... i put in my parameters and pop up less than 10, usually... when you go from 30K to 8K, there is an obvious decline... good luck with your convoluted logic!!!-Jésus noir

tonemonster, love your something is better than nothing approach. Sad that has had to come to this though. Scrabbling through the refuge of what used to be a humming great site. I'm playing poly games now, as can't get quads off the ground anymore

I doubt if CC is declining. There will always be newbies signing up even as people that have played it awhile leave in disgust.
I always wondered why the tactics used in the online games were so different from what people do in real life board games or in other computer Risk formats. I now realize that with the automatic distribution system for placing troops (uniform versus intentional placement) and with the really terrible dice role heuristics that CC has, that they are inevitable. You can't get anywhere unless you concentrate and build up huge piles of armies on a single country until you are ready to role over everyone else...
