For the 1v1s, ties will be semi non-random so I can make everyone play everyone as much as possible, and avoid anyone having a disproportionate number of 'byes' (aka ViperOverLord).

(Having no byes would mean reducing the total number of points available.)

And not having the same number of byes for everyone looks worse to me than reducing the total number of points available for me. I'd rather you reduce number of games if we can't all have the same number of byes...

Or will you try to balance the byes from previous turn ?

There are 24 sets games to be played in each of round 9 and 10. This means everyone will get 2 bonus points (as I will make sure everyone gets 2 byes), and 2 random players will get a 3rd bonus point. To force an equal number of byes (ie, no byes) I would have to reduce the number of sets to 22, meaning 2 less possible points for everyone, which is far more likely to be significant in deciding the final outcome than those 2 randomly distributed points.

Remember that score is cumulative, and reducing the points available in rounds 9 and 10 would add extra weighting to the games already played in the finals, making it more difficult to catch those already leading. I don't want to change the proportion of points the 1v1s are intended to have on the finals.

I'm perhaps not being clear here.

The problem is that we now have an uneven number of players, which means not everyone can play one game on every map, and 11 doesn't sort nicely into the 24 games per player required. Hence, a bye is required on each map.
