Has anyone else noticed that for the past few days CC automatically logs you out after about 15 minutes of inactivity? Bit of a pain really as I used to casually leave a CC window open on my PC and check it from time-to-time to maybe catch a move or cover a missed turn and it was good for hours and hours. Now I have to keep logging in every time I return to the page.

Good point.
I reckon it may have something to do with alleviating traffic to the server due to the lags people have experienced recently. I'm not an IT guy so it's just speculation on my part that disconnecting idle players prevents a lot of packets being sent.

I tell you what though, I'll be mightily pissed off if I spend 30 minutes writing a post only to be sent to the log-in screen when I click Submit. Worth bearing in mind, all ye wordy people. Copy your post before hitting Submit.

If you were to hit the " PREVIEW " button while you are writing a novel
It would count as " ACTIVITY " during your session and would not effect your Post or PM
DAS SCHLOß ✪ DOUBLES ✪ F/S ✪ 222 FROM 225 [99%] BEST WINNING STREAK ✪ 92-0
it made me miss turns, as i calculated time to turns from what was showing on the game screen like i usually do, logged back in in the morning, missed turns.

I've always done that on longer posts, just as a precaution.
However, this is something new.

You sure? Sounds a bit daft. If I'm sitting waiting for a speed game to be filled it won't log me out. It will however drop the speed game if I log out. Big difference.

I think Wham has been working on some fixes due to people trying to hack chat. Perhaps this is an unrealized side effect? Perhaps a PM to let him know.

who would want to "hack chat" and why, mitt? anyways, this auto log-out is irritating AF, please rectify it.

Not many wordsmiths like yourself left anyway. Unless Paul is hiding on someone's account I'd wager you're literally the only frequent essay writer left on this site.
More seriously yes I've noticed this. It's annoying and I know people for whom it has caused missed turns.
To add to what you said about servers, it really wouldn't make a difference. All it will do is increase the number of people coming onto the site numerous times a day (maybe it's to boost visit numbers?) but wouldn't improve the stress on the server whatsoever.

Speed Games
These real-time games have round lengths ranging from 5 minutes to 1 minute and automatically refresh.
If you logout or your session is idle for more than 15 minutes you will be automatically dropped from any waiting speed games.

Yeah, I got logged out mid-turn yesterday so it's pretty random as opposed to an inactivity timer. I was only killing some boredom by playing against the bot though.
Chat attracts a bunch of immature turdballs. The other day, one person was posting links in chat and trying to trick people into clicking it so they could mess with people and log in as them. That's what was going on. I refused to click said link, since I was already warned about it. I was like "Do that shit on the beta site." Then another dingbat goes yesterday after it was fixed... "Well why not have fun with people before you report the bug, afterall, no one's getting paid?" I just logged out at that point because if people don't understand why dicking (oh sorry, was that testing?) with people's accounts without asking them first is not funny... yeah, whatever.

Being part of the chatters group or friends with basically gives you a free pass to do what you want on this site these days.
