As you describe it I say no, but are many ways to parse this and differentiate situations...

Frequency - Is this a one time thing or a regular pattern?

Reciprocacy- Does the boss get free drinks or lunch... or other things, free work on his house, etc.... as a quid-pro-quo “thank you” for these types of favors.

Scale - Do you get a couple days off.... or do you get a $100K cash bonus?

Harm to Others - Who pays?
-> Does your coworker pickup your slack? Does she get help when she needs time for some other reason?
-> Is this a private enterprise or a public one?
If the boss is also the owner then he should be able to do what he wants. If it’s a corporation are the shareholders being defrauded by significant loss? It’s likely a couple days off for a good employee actually helps the bottom line in the long run. If it’s public then it;s similar to a corporation, but I feel the standards should be higher.

I’m sure there are other factors I’ve not yet considered.

The thing is, there's no evidence that Joe Biden did anything to get his son this job, besides have an important name on which his son could trade. Again - not a good thing, but not corrupt, and no favors have been known to have been done. Biden, along with most of our EU partners, wanted a prosecutor removed for not prosecuting corruption in a country that was full of corrupt officials. I may have referred to the prosecutor as personally corrupt, where that wasn't the specific complaint. My apologies to Mr. Shokin.

Then Trump did a crime by trying to coerce Ukraine into maybe deciding the Bidens did a crime in order to get that money to fight the Russians. which, crime, if anything matters.
