But they would never make it to the UNSC meetings.mrswdk wrote:Ireland is the only one of these three that can be trusted not to behave as a slavish US lapdog. Therefore I have voted for Republic of Ireland.

I'm surprised you didn't pick Canada since China have basically bought Canada on lay-away. We are what 20 years away from Xi being printed on their money instead of England's queen?mrswdk wrote:Ireland is the only one of these three that can be trusted not to behave as a slavish US lapdog. (I offer no evidence for these extraordinary claims)

There's plenty of it available, though. British Columbia is basically China's 24th province -mookiemcgee wrote: I'm surprised you didn't pick Canada since China have basically bought Canada on lay-away. We are what 20 years away from Xi being printed on their money instead of England's queen?

I thought it was one of Canada's oldest traditions, like fishing and the name Gordon?2dimes wrote:Have you ordered chips and received something you did not expect?jonesthecurl wrote:You just had to chip in, didn't you?2dimes wrote:Taters!
Back around 1992 my pal's brother was in Washington state in a diner getting a sandwich that came with a side of chips.
It was before poutine had caught on but.. at that time it was stil somewhat common in Canada to order chips with gravy.
So he asked if he could get gravy on his chips. The waitress was confused and there was some discussion to make sure that was what he wanted. He insisted that it was normal in Canada to get "chips with gravy".
She brought him a plate, on it was a sandwich with, chips covered in gravy.

mookiemcgee wrote:hmm...that's a good question, mook. if i had to guess, i'd say it caught on nationally up here sometime in the 90's & was always a fairly popular dish in Quebec & Ontario. best guess...*shrugs*2dimes wrote:Have you ordered chips and received something you did not expect?jonesthecurl wrote:You just had to chip in, didn't you?2dimes wrote:Taters!
