Negative feedback players - Now with form*

Post by sixer »

Suggestion Idea: Not allow users with more negative feedback than positive to join a game if there is only 1 (or 2?) spot(s) left.

Why it is needed: There needs to be some sort of a way to manage the negative feedback players. I try to stray away from any games where a player has a bad feedback record. However, I've been part of a few games where a player with a negative feedback record was the last player to join the game. There is nothing I can do when he/she is the last to join and the game begins before I have a chance to drop the game.

Sure, you can say well play the game then ignore him/her but that game is still a bad experience with them deadbeating or bad tactics, etc.

Game number 1458677 is a prime example of why this needs to be implemented.

Thank you.

I find it ironic that 20% of your feedback is negative feedback...

You just can't what?

Game number 1458677 is a good example of what I am talking about. A player with a feedback of 3-14 slid in the game I started. He took one turn and hasn't come back.

This is only going to improve the atmosphere making more new players happy meaning they will buy premium.

Yea, and if you read that feedback it was by a pair that was cheating in a game that I caught.

Feedback is a valuable tool that needs to be used. You would not buy something from somebody on Ebay with a feedback of 3-14 so why would you want to play a game of risk with them?

Because points =/= money. Bad players are a part of the game, so why can't you adapt to them? If you really hate them that much, then only play private games. Personally, I welcome deadbeats. Free points.

No, my reason?

Look at my feedback. 67-16. 16 Negs is a lot. Now read them. There nothing more then sex jokes, and Pikachu stuff. Now I don't want to be blocked from games just because I asked people to give me Negs (or they did on their own will.) That would just be wrong.

I have one justified neg, the other two are sex jokes.

Also, that is what is wrong with this idea. You are assuming that the feedback system is always going to be used the way it was intended, which is obviously not the case.

lilfreak has a point PPL (ehhem a few ppl i know n adore) r going to abuse the feedback system so it would b unfair. Don"t join games unless they r private or till they r about full 8)

You guys are not understanding the concept. if you have more positive feedback then negative feedback then that is fine. This would only apply to people with more negative feedback than positive.

But then you'd still be getting a bunch of bad players in you game, which defeats the purpose.

i have neg. feedback but many tell mine is actually a pos because i stuckk up and still fought to the bitter end. not only that the person then quit the game because he said that CC is full of unappriciative ppl
Rap music is being listened to by 97% of teenagers, if you're one of the 3% of teenagers that actually listen to real music, then put this in your signature.

The problem lies in the fact that the feedback system doesn't work. The only thing that you can deduce from someone's feedback is if he is a really nice person (100+ positives). Other then that, they mean nothing.

Example: I have 4 Negs.

1 is a legitimate claim that I can be an ass. Completly legit.
2 are jokes from friends.
1 is a Revenge feedback which mods don't want to remove because they are not all that good at doing their job.

it works, you just have to think... if someone with four games has 4 negs, the numbers alone tell the story, if someone with 4000 games has 4, they are probably the nicest player on here, once you get one or two, others add on
but reading the comments and replies makes it very easy to determine who might be a problem

Some ill avoid that have only two, but regularly play with some who are in the double digits... granted, I dont mess with them too much

as far as having a high number, I personally guarantee it doesnt mean they are the nicest... im in at least the top ten, and I make the game fun, but it hardly means im one of the nicest people on the site. Its simply a reflection of the number of games ive played, and the number of feedbacks i gave in my early days

More importantly, the feedback invisibly makes the site better, because it give incentive for players not to cause trouble. some could care less about negatives, and they are very obvious, since they usually have many

The feedback number next to the name, keeps this place civil...well, as civil as it is anyways

On the subject of players with double digits worth of Negs: true, some of them deserve them, but there are some who just goof around and get joke-Negs from their friends (Fircoal, for example).

The guy who started this thread suggested that Negs should be considered an objective measure of how nasty players are (otherwise his suggestion makes no sense). For this to work, two conditions would have to be met first:

1. Negative feedback should be devided in two sections: unfair behaviour and rudness feedbacks.

2. Mods would have to treat feedback complains more seriously. I have been given a revenge feedback and mods refused to delete it becauss "to a third person it looks like it could be a non-revenge negative."

well, my point is that the feedback system works, but you cant take the numbers at their face value.

no more arguing, or im giving you another negative, and no one will play with you... 4 is fine, but 5 is way too many

We'll never allow restrictions on who joins a game based on points or feedback. It's up to you to decide which games to join. Perhaps also the person is trying to change their ways, so what's wrong with playing them one game to give them the benefit of the doubt? Feedback is an information tool, not a restriction from anything.
