Jeff Wayne's musical version of the War of the Worlds is pretty amazing for reunions with old flames. Trust me...:)

You should start webcamming this shit, or at least write some memoirs.

I'd take them, but they show no interest.
They get plenty... trust me.

I am fairly close to my brothers and sisters. However the chance of moving the party day is zero. That was the only weekend he could get the Hall we use... and I have a large family. So once it's set, it's set. The Spock principal... "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one."

About 40-45 minute drive.

No.

Has no one here heard of Lux Level movie theatres?

This would've worked, but I had a falling out with Carrie Fisher after a drunken night of partying back in the 90's.

I'm sure it's nothing that an hour of cunnilingus won't fix.

Back in her Slave Leia days that would've been no problem, but I can't bring myself to go there anymore.

Sounds expensive. If we're going to bring rational Utilitarian ethics into this; try a cost analysis to determine the amount saved by you in either situation.
$40 ÷ 2 people = $20 per person
or
(Money spent on party ÷ total estimated family members attending) + (Odds of getting shanked by a nerd's lightsaber * hospital bill) = ???

The party cost is fixed... it won't go up of down based on my attendance.

The tickets are bought.

The only relative cost delta is what I would spend at the movie on food... or what I would drink at the party (cash bar, it's at a hall)... these two numbers are roughly equivalent. So cost is not a factor.

Odds of wife getting drunk... low, 1/500 maybe?

Odds of wife letting me stick it in her pooper... ZERO.
